Popular Indian YouTuber and content creator Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, is finally free to travel internationally after months of legal restrictions. The influencer’s passport was returned following a Supreme Court ruling, bringing relief to his followers and marking a new chapter after a widely publicized controversy.
Passport Returned After Legal Battle
Ranveer’s passport had been confiscated during a police investigation into a controversial remark made on the now-deleted YouTube episode of India’s Got Latent. The incident sparked nationwide backlash and led to several FIRs being filed against him and other participants in the episode. The Union Government had taken serious note of the remarks, prompting a multi-state legal response.
On April 28, 2025, the Supreme Court directed the return of his passport after both the Maharashtra and Assam governments confirmed that the investigation was complete. While Ranveer is still required to cooperate with authorities until a chargesheet is filed, the court order allows him to resume international travel—crucial for his career as a global podcast host and digital entrepreneur.
Ranveer Celebrates His First International Trip
Shortly after the court’s decision, Ranveer took to Instagram to share his excitement. Posting a cheerful photo at the airport, he wrote, “Passport mil gaya guys,” translating to “I’ve got my passport back, guys.” He also uploaded a business class selfie and a screenshot of the Supreme Court order that ended his travel restrictions.
The influencer had originally surrendered his passport in February 2025, in compliance with interim bail conditions. In March, he had appealed for its return, citing the importance of international travel for his podcast business—his main source of income.
Charges Still Pending, But Travel Allowed
Though Ranveer can now travel abroad, the case against him is not fully closed. According to the Solicitor General, the investigation has concluded, but legal proceedings are ongoing. He faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for:
-
Outraging the modesty of women (Section 79)
-
Promoting enmity between groups (Section 196)
-
Insulting religious beliefs (Section 299)
-
Engaging in acts against public decency (Section 299)
The Controversial Episode
The legal trouble began when Ranveer appeared on India’s Got Latent alongside other influencers like Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani. During the episode, he asked a contestant a highly provocative question that sparked outrage: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?”
While it was intended as a dark joke, the backlash was swift. The episode was removed from YouTube, but by then, the damage had been done, triggering multiple police complaints and online condemnation.
