What profession were you in before you started creating content, and when did you decide to take the plunge?
After graduation, I began creating YouTube videos, posting 9-10 of them, each taking about a week to produce. Although they didn’t surpass 1,000 views, I saw it as a valuable learning experience. After a few months of no earnings or even the hope of a career, I had to shift my time to working at my family’s saree shop. Sitting in the shop, I couldn’t contain myself as thoughts of shooting and creating something magical wouldn’t let me sit at the counter. That’s when I decided to start making reels, and it turned out to be the best choice for me.
When you started content creation, did you ever think you’d grow so much?
I never imagined I’d grow this much when I first started. I was just excited to share my creativity and passion with a small audience. The growth has been truly humbling, and I’m incredibly grateful for all the support along the way. It’s been an amazing journey, and I still feel like there’s so much to learn and improve on!
Any tips for budding creators? How is it different now than it was when you first started?
The biggest change I’ve noticed is that social media has gained both power and sensitivity in recent years. It’s important to be mindful of the messages you’re conveying through your videos, and remember that quality is key. That’s the best advice I can give.
How cluttered is your space and what do you do to stand out?
The rise of more creators making their mark is a true blessing for the content creation industry. The growing talent inspires and motivates me to continuously improve. I firmly believe that the best talents deserve to be at the top, not just those who’ve been around the longest. If I fail to evolve and create better content, I wouldn’t want to hold a top position simply for being a veteran creator or for being famous.
Tell us about a brand you really enjoyed creating content for.
I have a deep passion for creating content in the fields of education, technology, and entertainment, which is why I would love the opportunity to collaborate with educational institutes, tech products, and OTT platforms. Education has always been a core interest of mine, as I believe in the power of knowledge and the importance of making learning engaging and accessible. Similarly, I’m fascinated by tech innovations and love exploring how they can transform everyday lives. As for films and entertainment, they have a special place in my heart, offering a unique way to tell stories and connect with audiences emotionally. Creating content in these areas feels like a natural extension of my personal interests and professional goals.
You can’t take long breaks from the internet, and no matter how you feel, you have to show up regularly. Do you sometimes feel under pressure to be consistent and post content regularly?
Consistency is crucial in content creation, but I believe that hitting a creative block can actually be a healthy sign. It shows that you’re pushing yourself to achieve the best possible results and not settling for easy, quick wins. Feeling exhausted at the end of a project and then starting fresh prepares me for bigger challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Each chapter I finish pushes me to grow and reach for more ambitious goals in the future.
What was the defining moment for you?
The defining moment for me was when I shifted from creating long-form videos to short-form content like reels. I had hit a plateau with my YouTube videos and wasn’t seeing much growth. But when I made the leap to reels, everything clicked. The engagement was immediate, and I felt a renewed sense of creativity. That moment showed me the power of adapting and trying new formats, and it completely changed the trajectory of my content creation journey.
How is content creation different from other professions? What are the perks and challenges?
Content creation is unique because it combines creativity with personal expression and direct audience engagement. Unlike traditional professions, creators often have the freedom to choose their topics, style, and platforms, which allows for a more personal connection with their audience.
Perks:
Creators can explore their passions and interests without strict guidelines.
Many content creators set their own hours, allowing for a better work-life balance.
Engaging with followers provides immediate feedback and fosters community.
Challenges:
Revenue can fluctuate based on views, sponsorships, and platform algorithms, making financial stability difficult.
The need for regular content can lead to burnout and stress.
Creators often face criticism or negative comments, which can impact mental well-being.
Which is your most viral reel? How long did it take you to create it, and did you anticipate its success? Reel Link
The reel I created last year for the Ganesh festival has been one of my most rewarding projects and has significantly contributed to my success. I shot it over two days, starting each day at 6 a.m. I already had a strong feeling that the video would be liked by millions, which is the best part because I believe in planning for success rather than relying on the chance of a video going viral.
Who are your favorite content creators, and who do you wish to collaborate with?
I enjoy watching Just Neel Things, Dasoham, Bemandy, Rishabh Shukla, and Sangharsh.
What’s next for you?
Creating longer-format content is my next goal.
