What profession were you in before you started creating content, and when did you decide to take the plunge?
I completed my MBA in finance and worked at CRISIL as a structured finance manager. However, I always had a passion for fashion, so I started sharing my looks on Instagram, just for fun. To my surprise, it caught the attention of brands, and soon I began getting paid collaborations. For two years, I balanced both my job and content creation before eventually making the leap to pursue it full-time once it became financially sustainable.
When you started content creation, did you ever think you’d grow so much?
Honestly, it all started as just something fun to do on the side. I never imagined it would grow into something so big, let alone turn into a full-fledged business. It’s amazing how something that began as a hobby has transformed into a career.
Any tips for budding creators? How is it different now than it was when you first started?
It’s super competitive and very saturated now. But if you stay true to your style and find your niche, then you’re good.
How cluttered is your space and what do you do to stand out?
As I’ve mentioned before, being authentic is key. My audience follows me for a reason, and I’ve built a genuine community around that. I regularly engage with them through DMs and create meaningful connections, and I believe that’s what truly makes a difference
Any crazy fan stories?
Yeah, I actually got stalked once, and it was a pretty unsettling experience. I was staying at a property in Jaipur, and back then, I used to post real-time updates on my stories. This guy showed up at the property, wanting to meet and take pictures. Since then, I’ve stopped sharing updates in real-time
Tell us about a brand you really enjoyed creating content for.
There are so many, but honestly, I only collaborate with brands that I genuinely like and use myself. I have a passion for styling and experimenting with fashion in my own unique way, which is why I really enjoy working with Indian homegrown brands
You can’t take long breaks from the internet, and no matter how you feel, you have to show up regularly. Do you sometimes feel under pressure to be consistent and post content regularly?
Not really. I did take a break when I had my baby, which was 5 months ago, and I think my audience completely understands. I’ve never been the type to post every single day, and I make it a point to take breaks whenever I feel it’s necessary. Thankfully, that hasn’t impacted my engagement or relationships with my audience in any negative way. They appreciate the authenticity and the balance I maintain.
What was the defining moment for you?
A defining moment for me was when I decided to transition from my corporate job to content creation full-time. I had been balancing both for two years, but there came a point when I realized that my passion for fashion and creating content was where I felt the most fulfilled. The turning point was when I saw how much of an impact I was making—not just in terms of brand collaborations, but in building a community that resonated with my journey. That moment gave me the confidence to take the leap, and it’s been incredibly rewarding ever since. Also, when I get to work with luxury brands that I really like, it feels like a true milestone.
How is content creation different from other professions? What are the perks and challenges?
Content creation has its own unique perks and challenges. One of the things I miss from my time working at CRISIL is the structured environment and clear routine that comes with a corporate job. However, the freedom and flexibility of being your own boss in content creation is something I truly value. You get to set your own schedule, be creative on your terms, and work with brands that align with your personal values and style. That said, it also comes with challenges—there’s no set path or guarantee of success, and you have to constantly stay inspired and self-motivated. Managing everything from content ideas to deadlines, all while engaging with your audience, can sometimes feel overwhelming. But at the end of the day, the ability to connect with a community and turn your passion into a career makes it all worthwhile.
Tell us about the ups and downs you’ve experienced before you got this far.
One of the biggest challenges I faced early on was juggling a full-time job while building my presence as a content creator. Because I was working full-time, I often couldn’t attend events or brand launches, which are key opportunities for networking and growing within the industry. Missing out on those moments felt like a setback because so much of content creation involves connecting with people in real life. However, over time, I found other ways to make up for it, whether through online collaborations, building strong relationships with brands, or consistently creating content that resonated with my audience. It’s been a journey of ups and downs, but each experience has taught me the importance of perseverance and staying true to my path.

My most viral reel was from the time I was pregnant, and it really resonated with my audience, especially the fashion content. It took off in a way I didn’t fully anticipate, but looking back, it makes sense. I think people connected with the combination of personal moments and style during such a special time. It was a mix of creativity and authenticity that really worked well.
