What profession were you in before you started creating content, and when did you decide to take the plunge?
Before content creation, all my jobs were in sports journalism, or rather, cricket journalism. When my followers crossed the 100,000 mark, and I became financially stable, I decided to plunge into content creation
When you started content creation, did you ever think you’d grow so much?
Of course, I didn’t know if it would grow, but I always wanted it to.
Any tips for budding creators? How is it different now than it was when you first started?
If you want to do it, do it with full commitment. Also, consistency and quality is important..
How cluttered is your space and what do you do to stand out?
Your only competition is with yourself, so I don’t try to stand out in front of others. If you feel insecure, the space is cluttered, but once you find some security, you’ll realise that your only competition is with your own senses.
Any crazy fan stories?
No, but I would like to mention a few people who engage with every piece of my content, and my relationship with them is much more than engagement now. They’re not just my followers anymore; they’re family.
Tell us about a brand you really enjoyed creating content for.
Recently, there was a campaign with Dot-n-Key sunscreen, which I loved because the content was about how women’s presence in my life has made my life better
You can’t take long breaks from the internet, and no matter how you feel, you have to show up regularly. Do you sometimes feel under pressure to be consistent and post content regularly?
Yes, the pressure is real, and I’m anxious about the idea of my next reel. The pressure is probably more in my head than in real life, but I feel it. I also feel left out if I don’t post as per my usual consistency, and it does cause me anxiety.
What was the defining moment for you?
Recently, I posted a video titled “How My Father Makes Me Feel Secure” and played the father character. On that video, I saw one comment that said, “I lost my father a couple of years ago, and your papa character videos make me feel his presence somewhat.” It hit me hard in a very good way, and I think that was one of the defining moments for me in recent times.
How is content creation different from other professions? What are the perks and challenges?
Yeah, it’s different from other jobs. If you define jobs as your usual nine-to-fives and working in an office under someone else’s leadership, if I compare it with that, the perk is that the onus is completely on you, and the disadvantage is that the onus is completely on you.
Tell us about the ups and downs you’ve experienced before you got this far.
I’m attributing these ups and downs to the number of followers because I have somewhat started measuring my worth by the number of followers. Regarding creative block, I realised it’s just your brain going in a different direction. You’re so saturated that when you want to do work and think of content, your brain goes into self-doubt rather than going into the natural creative train of thought process.
Who are your favorite content creators and who do you wish to collaborate with?
Virat Kohli and I would like to collaborate or at least be in his vicinity
Which is your most viral reel ? How long did it take you to create it, and did you anticipate its success? Reel Link
My most viral reel was the one I created around Tauba Tauba, which got about 20M views. I’m obsessed with it because many people couldn’t figure it out, and I was among the rare people who did.
What’s next for you?
I haven’t thought of what’s next because I enjoy being in the moment..
